Keith Shiflett, 66, learned about the Eye Clinic just two weeks after coming to the Mission. He hadn’t had his eyes checked in over five years, and his only glasses were his safety glasses. During his exam, the eye doctor discovered a spot on the retina of his left eye – a possible melanoma – and referred him to a retina specialist who agreed to see him at no charge. Fortunately, the spot hasn’t grown and required no further action. Keith has it checked regularly, and through the Mission’s partnership with LensCrafters, he received a new pair of glasses.
