“What I loved about UGM Camp”: Hear from the kids you sponsored

The 2023 UGM Camp season has just wrapped up, and we have loads of messages from this summer's campers to share with you. Each week, on the fourth day of Camp, the kids are given an opportunity to express their thanks to you, the community who sponsors their attendance. The overwhelming message is always one of pure joy. Thank you for giving Spokane's low-income and underprivileged children the chance to explore God's great creation, build wholesome friendships, and meet the best friend they'll ever have: Jesus.

“Thank you super much for having me come to camp and paying for it.”
- Zander, 2023 UGM Camper

BoysCabin

“I loved floating in the river… and the people in my cabin who became like younger and older siblings. This camp is a home not just a camp. It’s exciting - fun - gospel. And the best part is that we can connect with God and the Holy Spirit. You can figure out what you want to do when you get older, and that’s what I liked about UGM Camp.” - Evelynn

“The counselors here are soooooooo nice. I wish everyone could come here. Thank you so much. I’m so thankful for you.” - Harper

Worship

“I loved when we climbed the wall. It was really fun. And thank the sponsors for paying for us so we can learn about God and Jesus.” - Rhydley

“I made new friends. I went to the challenge course. We sang songs in the chapel. We floated down the river. We did crafts. We talked in the cabin. I slept at night. We ate food. We learned about God! We did teamwork! We did not give up even when it got hard! So, thank you for letting me have a good time!” - Kamdyn

Challenge-Course

“What I loved about UGM Camp this week was the activities at the challenge course and having the girls work together to problem solve and become closer. I also appreciate all of the staff working on the food, the cleaning up, games, and all of the people who donated to UGM to pay for everything we have here.” - Emily

“Thank you for the food, the challenge course, the float. Thanks for everything.” - Anonymous

RiverFloat

“I loved my cabin leaders. They were so nice, and I love them. I loved Pam and Camp Mom. Thank you. I love this camp.” - Lola

“I loved the way people were kind and generous to each other. I loved the float so much. It was so fun. I also love all the friends I made.” - Raven

Program

“I loved when I went on a walk and when I hung out with my leaders and when I went to chapel and when we watched a movie and playing games with socks and when we ate bacon.” - Natalie

“I loved seeing everyone super exited. It makes me exited. I also liked gaga ball. Thank you for paying for the camp so we don’t have to.” - Forrest

Friends-1

“I loved all the stuff. I will miss you all. I am verrrryy saddd to be leaving. Maybe I will see you next year.” - Lilly

UGM Camp is the product of hundreds of community members like you offering your love to kids you’ve never even met. Every sponsorship reaches a local child with the truth that he or she is immeasurably valuable. This truth alone has the power to break the cycle of poverty, abuse, and addiction in the lives of families across the Inland Northwest. Thank you.
