For years, UGM has been blessed to receive countless gifts from faithful partners who included the ministry in their estate plan. Today, we have 256 Legacy Partners who have made UGM a part of their will or trust, a beneficiary of an IRA or life insurance policy, or intend to leave a gift of real estate. These gifts are not just financial—they are a tangible expression of God’s economy in action, and they carry blessings that ripple through our community for generations to come.
These gifts have allowed us to operate debt-free, without relying on government funding.
The gifts entrusted to UGM by these faithful stewards have made a powerful difference in our ministry’s ability to grow and meet the ever-evolving needs of the community. Through their generosity, UGM has been able to establish and maintain buildings, thrift stores, aftercare housing, shelters, and even a camp. These gifts have allowed us to operate debt-free, without relying on government funding, and continue offering life-changing services to those who need them most.
When I think about how these faithful partners are enabling UGM to function with such stability, I am continually amazed by their foresight and mindfulness. Not only are they thinking of their fellow man during their lives, but they’re also contemplating how to continue supporting those in need even after they’re gone. It’s a beautiful reflection of a heart devoted to the well-being of others, and their legacy is incredible. By partnering with UGM and investing in the future of our community, they are building a lasting legacy of partnership for generations to come.
During my recent visits with our Legacy Partners, I’ve had the privilege of hearing stories that reflect both heartache and blessings. In their stories, you can feel a deep relationship with the Lord, one that’s rich with faith, struggle, and transformation. It’s humbling to be let into this sacred space, where people share both their challenges—such as poverty, homelessness, or addiction—and their victories, rooted in the hope they find in Christ.
When I hear someone say, “I couldn’t think of a better place to leave my things of this earth,” I am deeply moved. They are releasing a portion of their resources—entrusting UGM with a piece of their legacy, a lasting gift that will continue to help people in need for years to come. Their generosity is a true reflection of their heart for others and their faith in God’s work through UGM.
I am able to connect people to resources and get the process started to ensure their desires are carried out.
As someone who helps others navigate the estate planning process, I find great fulfillment in assisting individuals as they consider how they can leave a lasting impact. For many, estate planning can feel overwhelming, which is why statistics show that 67% of people don’t have a will. But thanks to a network of compassionate professionals—attorneys, CPAs, and financial planners—I am able to connect people to resources and get the process started to ensure their desires are carried out.
At UGM, we understand that generosity of this nature can sometimes be hard to comprehend, but it’s also a beautiful testament to God’s work in people’s lives. It’s a witness to how God transforms not only those who benefit from these gifts but also those who give them.
What inspires me the most is seeing God at work in the lives of individuals. It’s incredible to witness the life-change that happens at UGM. The journey is not always quick, but when I see our residents working hard to rebuild their lives—with the help of God and the support of our ministry—it is nothing short of miraculous.
But it’s not just the transformation of those we serve that inspires me—it’s also the transformation happening in our staff, volunteers, and financial partners. The closer we get to God and His work in our community, the more deeply we are moved to use the gifts He’s given us to serve others.
As I reflect on these incredible stories and the lasting impact of generous partners, I am reminded that each act of kindness—no matter how big or small—carries eternal significance. Through these partnerships, UGM continues to serve the community, creating lasting change in the lives of those who need it most. And in doing so, we build a legacy of faith, hope, and restoration that will continue to impact future generations.
Thank you to all who partner with us in this sacred work. Together, we are making a difference that will last long after we are gone.
