“The enemy got his hooks into me early. I’d been using for roughly 40 years.”
Over 300 people came to celebrate the dedication of the new Center for Women and Children in Coeur d’Alene. Area mayors, county commissioners, pastors, law enforcement officials and civic leaders showed their support for UGM’s outreach to women and children in crisis. US Bank and Coeur d’Alene Mines presented checks for $145,000 and $50,000 respectively. Rebecca Bender, a resident of Women’s Recovery at Anna Ogden Hall in Spokane, shared how her life has been transformed by the program. She went from wanting to die, she said, to being excited about her future.
“The outpouring of support from the community has been amazing,” said Director JoAnn Zajicek. “The enthusiasm has simply escalated since the dedication. I see it as a beautiful illustration of UGM, individuals, churches, and businesses partnering with God to bring hope, healing, and restoration to the broken women in our community."
