Church Connections: Coeur d'Alene Bible Church

Kurt Staeuble, pastor of Coeur d’Alene Bible Church, took a few minutes to explain his church’s involvement with the UGM Center for Women and Children and how it has affected their congregation.

Kurt-Staeuble

Why has your church chosen to partner with the UGM Center for Women & Children?

One reason we choose to partner with UGM is that service opportunities are readily available. Not everyone can become a missionary, or even go on a short-term mission trip, but almost everyone can get involved in a ministry like UGM.

In what ways are you working with the Center?

In regards to our congregation, we have people serving in the kitchen, teaching classes, working in the office, teaching physical fitness, helping take in donations, and so on.

What has the relationship meant to your church?

Our perspective is that the Church is a place where people are able to connect upwardly to God, inwardly as a family, and outwardly in mission. UGM provides a place for us to send people to get involved in meaningful mission work right here in our own community.

Does serving at UGM take away from your congregation’s ability to give to the needs of your church?

Because of the nature of mission work, I believe our connection to UGM only enhances and deepens our congregation’s understanding of service and the gospel.  I find the people from our church who minister at UGM come back to us more equipped for service and more excited about how the gospel can change lives.
