Volunteers Providing Welcome
UGM’s volunteer case managers stand on the frontlines of ministry, offering listening ears and wise counsel to men and women in crisis.
This summer Artworks Coeur d’Alene teamed up with the UGM Center for Women & Children in a unique partnership with multiple positive benefits. First, Artworks donated tent space at the Riverstone Street Fair each Thursday night throughout the summer for UGM’s use. Inside the tent, women and volunteers from the Center were restoring pieces of donated furniture with paint, supplies and instruction also donated by Artworks.
The pieces were then sold with the profit going to UGM’s homeless services. Interested residents learned how to give new life to bargain furniture, and at the same time, they shared their recovery stories with interested shoppers. Win. Win. Win!
