Business Partner: Bob McConkey

Bob McConkey, owner of DAA Northwest and McConkey Auction Group, isn’t afraid to mix business and faith. “We’re not shy about our faith. We recognize that to whom much is given, much is demanded. Christ says that very specifically. Not only to us, but our customers. We’re all very fortunate, and we know the concept of giving back is biblical and that they should be aware of it.”

Bob and his partner, Greg Mahugh, practice what they preach. Every year, on DAA’s anniversary, they hold a gala, complete with a charity auction. Through that event, DAA and the dealers who partner with them have donated over $1.4 million to charity over the last 15 years. UGM has been one of the fortunate recipients of those gifts.

“I love the Union Gospel Mission, and I support the Mission because I believe its model is biblical. We realize that Christ calls us not to turn our backs on the less fortunate, on the widows, on the orphans, on the poor, but to serve them. The Mission is doing that, and I believe the business community has an obligation to also serve the less fortunate. The Mission is a great conduit for us.”
